Coach Stansberry is a graduate of Tulsa Union High School. He played Linebacker at NEO Jr. College, then transferred to South Western Oklahoma State University where he lettered at LB for 3 years as the team won the Lone Star championship in 1997 and the national championship in 1996.

Coach Stansberry and wife Mika have three children, Emma (7), Lillie (5) and Claire (4). Coach Stansberry is starting his ninth year at DeSoto High School.
