Welcome to Desoto High School, the "Home of Scholars and Champions!" It is my privilege to welcome you to one of the finest high schools in Texas, and to introduce you to one of the top football programs in the state. The 2010 Eagles have set their goals high, and look forward to taking their fans on an incredible journey to another championship season. Coach Mathis and his staff have prepared these young men to play with pride, integrity, honor and relentless passion. They truly personify the "Grand Eagle " image of strength, speed, and dedication.

As the principal of Desoto High School I look forward to standing beside you to support our teams and coaches. As a long time football fan, I will always enjoy the struggle between the sidelines. Football, more than any other sport, exemplifies the adage that "sports don't build character, they reveal it." May it be said of our young men that "no matter what the circumstances, they faced their opponents with character and honor." May the same be said of all our fans and supporters. Cheer for our players, support our coaches, and show our opponents how a community with character acts like a "class act." To quote one of the greatest coaches ever, the legendary John Wooden, "Winning takes to talent. To repeat takes character." In Eagle Country..... Character Counts!
